Emily Upton was tragically killed while attending UNCC. Mike Frank, of the former Market Street Subs where Emily was a employee, asked to hold this dinner every year to raise money for a scholarship for nurses as a way to remember Emily. This dinner is held to raise money for a memorial scholarship in the nursing program at UNCC where Emily was attending.
